Turquoise Place Resort Review: What to Know Before You Go

Searching for the perfect vacation rental in Orange Beach can be pretty tough. There are so many options, so which one do you choose?

After staying at the Turquoise Place, I can definitely say this is the spot for you if you’re looking for a luxury condo rental.

It has all the amenities that you could want, the rooms are immaculate, it’s in a perfect location, and the views are beautiful.

I put together this Turquoise Place Orange Beach review to help you decide if it’s the right spot for your group to stay.

Location: Turquoise Place Orange Beach, AL

When you stay here, you’ll be in a prime location for everything that Orange Beach and Gulf Shores has to offer. It’s right along the main drag in Orange Beach and only takes about 15 – 20 minutes to drive over to Gulf Shores.

The towers are located right on the beach so not only do you get amazing sunrise and sunset views, but you can also walk right out on the sand whenever you want to access the beach.

Publix and Walmart grocery stores are both about five minutes away as are popular restaurants like Zeke’s Restaurant, CoastAL Orange Beach, The Gulf, and Cobalt.

There is also trail access to Gulf State Park that’s about 5 minutes away, but the main area of the park is a 10 minute drive. It’s the perfect spot no matter what you have on your Gulf Shores & Orange Beach itinerary.

Rooms

The first thing that struck me about the condo when first walking in was how big all the rooms were. The place was enormous! We stayed in a 3 bedroom condo with 3.5 baths and it was wonderful.

The living room and kitchen are incredibly spacious with tall ceilings and the balcony was large as well with an outdoor couch, hot tub, and grill.

The master bedroom had a separate door that opened to the balcony and a bathroom that was almost as big as the bedroom.

There were two other bedrooms in the unit—one with a king bed and another with two double beds. Each had its own bathroom.

There was also a half bath in the hallway along with a laundry room that included a large utility sink.

Condos are individually owned so of course they can each be different. Ours was located on the 19th floor and we had fantastic views of the ocean.

Amenities

I’m going to talk about a few of the amenities that we used or noticed, but if you want to see the full list then here are all the amenities at Turquoise Place.

Inside the Room

I’ve already mentioned a few of the amenities inside the room, but here’s a little more detail.

The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you may need to cook meals while you’re here. There’s also a grill on the balcony if you plan on grilling anything.

They do give you coffee, but it’s in pre-measured packets to brew one pot at a time. We had two of these packets in our room when we arrived so if you’re a coffee drinker, you may want to bring extra coffee or ask the front desk if they can provide more.

The unit has a washer and a dryer, and they provide laundry detergent. In the bathroom, there is a very nice package of toiletries that includes shampoo, conditioner, soap, and lotion, plus a makeup wipe.

There are extra blankets in one of the closets, which I always think is a nice touch. Finally on the balcony, you’ll find a hot tub, a large sectional couch, and a grill. Someone comes by each day to check the chemicals in the hot tub.

In the Building

Turquoise Place is made up of two separate buildings (called towers) and we were in the D tower.

Level four is where you’ll find all of the amenities. There’s a fitness center, indoor pool, and the Spectrum Lounge for people who book directly through Spectrum Resorts.

The Spectrum Lounge has a ping-pong table, pool table, and foosball. You’ll also find a buffet breakfast served here, but again, this is for people who book directly through Spectrum Resorts.

Grounds

Turquoise Place has gated parking, which some people consider an amenity. You either have to check in with security or use a key to access the parking area.

On the beach side in between both towers, you’ll find a large pool and a bar and grill where you can order food and drinks. There are also giant chess and checkers sets.

At the end of C Tower, you’ll find a 4-story waterslide that’s 300 feet long—tons of fun to go down! There’s also a putting green at the top of the water slide and you can pick up golf balls and putters at the C Tower front desk.

Over in D Tower on Level 4, there’s a lazy river that’s shady in the morning and gets afternoon/evening sun. We spent a few hours here one afternoon and it was so relaxing.

What to Know Before Visiting

Please pay attention to the beach flags! There are different colors to indicate how rough the surf is that day or if there are marine pests in the area. Check the beach flag status each day.

Another thing to watch out for is sea turtles. Sea turtles nest here from May through October so please watch out for them, especially at night. You can stop by the Visitor Center and get a red light cover for your phone’s flashlight so you won’t disturb them at night.

There are chairs and umbrellas set up outside of Turquoise Place, but Spectrum Resorts does not operate them. Using them will cost an additional fee, so if you’re on a budget, bring your own chairs or lay out on your towel.

While you’ll definitely want to have a car with you on your vacation, if you plan on going out and drinking, then Uber or Lyft are readily available.

You’ll want to book early if you are traveling during the summer since things fill up pretty quickly. Consider traveling during the other seasons if you want to avoid crowds—spring and fall are the best time to visit Orange Beach and winter isn’t too bad either.

As you can see if you want a luxury vacation rental in Orange Beach, then Turquoise Place is it. These rentals really do have everything you need for the perfect vacation.

They would be great for girls’ getaways, families, or multi-couple trips especially so each person/couple can have their own space but there are plenty of common areas to gather as well.
