Coffee Shops in Winston-Salem Map

Krankies Coffee

First up is Krankies Coffee! Founded in 2003, this coffee shop roasts its own beans and also doubles as a restaurant with live music and entertainment in the evening. It’s consistently ranked as one of the top Winston-Salem coffee shops and for a good reason.

They have a range of coffee flavors, including Rail Head Espresso, Laayyoo Natural, and La Montana Pacamara. Plus, you can grab a meal to go with your drink, with options including sandwiches, breakfast plates, waffles, and even biscuits. Krankies Coffee prides itself in being an inclusive coffee shop so all are welcome.

I will warn you that their parking lot is pretty small. If you can find a spot on the street and don’t mind walking a bit then I would do that instead of trying to park in their lot especially if you drive a large car.

Address: 211 E 3rd Street, Winston-Salem, NC | Website: Krankies Coffee

Camino Bakery

Camino Bakery is one of the coffee shops in downtown Winston-Salem that actually has more than one location. This coffee shop and bakery can be found at Wake Forest University, Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, Brookstown, and on 4th Street downtown, but each location’s hours vary so be sure to check.

The shop was founded by Cary Clifford, who wanted to create a place that the community would love.

The menu at Camino Bakery changes depending on the season, but in addition to their seasonal drinks, they also brew Counter Culture Coffee year-round. They have almost every bakery option you could imagine, from pastries to cookies. Do yourself a favor and try one of them.

Address: 310B W Fourth Street, Winston-Salem, NC (downtown) | Website: Camino Bakery

Footnote Coffee & Cocktails

Footnote Coffee & Cocktails is a classic coffee shop with a twist! In addition to selling their homemade coffee and pastries, they also serve a wide variety of craft beer, cocktails, wine, and more in the afternoon hours.

This is one of the best coffee shops in Winston and has an interesting backstory. The co-owners have actually been creating their own coffee in their house for years and decided it was time to share it with the world and opened their own business.

Footnote is part of the Foothills Brewing family and under the same ownership.

Moji Coffee + More

Moji Coffee + More is a perfect place to go to find a great cup of coffee in Winston-Salem. This coffee shop in particular is extremely unique and strives to create a community that celebrates all differences. They’re a non-profit organization that hires employees of different abilities.

This shop offers coffee, teas, and blended drinks like frappes and smoothies plus a few bakery items, like bagels and muffins, if you need a snack with your drink.

Camel City Coffee

Camel City Coffee has a location downtown as well as across from the Thruway Shopping Center making it incredibly convenient to both sides of town. The owners of the shop (who are an amazing mother/daughter team) focus on creating a community within their store and sell some delicious coffee in addition to other treats.

They create some incredible drinks and also sell packaged sweets like biscotti and homemade rice crispy treats. It’s a great spot to stop by before work or on your lunch break if you need a caffeine fix.

Lavender & Honey Kitchen

Lavender & Honey Kitchen is one of the great coffee shops in Winston that has a beautiful interior. The inside is very minimalistic and modern, making for a great place to visit if you want an Instagrammable background to your cup of coffee.

Similar to Camel City Coffee, Lavender & Honey Kitchen was also started by a mother and daughter, but they’re heavily influenced by food trends in Europe. They also try to use organic North Carolina ingredients in all their products. In addition to selling coffee, they have a variety of bakery items that are sure to make your mouth water.

On a nice day you can enjoy your coffee outside as they have plenty of outdoor seating. The line often stretches out the door so be prepared to wait especially on weekends. They are known for their cinnamon rolls but I love their cookies.

Baked Just SO

Baked Just SO is a bit of a hidden gem when it comes to coffee shops in Winston-Salem. They pride themselves in being a bakery and coffee shop that’s family-friendly – they even have a chalkboard for kids.

This woman-owned small business serves up delicious coffee for the parents and also sells decadent treats like ice cream sandwiches and cookies for the kids (or kids at heart). If you’re in need of a cake for a special event, you can also order one here!

They have breakfast pastry staples as well as seasonal pastries that rotate. No matter what you order, you won’t be disappointed here.

Coffee Park Airstream

Just down the road from Lavender and Honey, you’ll find the Coffee Park Airstream. You can drive up here and they sell coffee out of a 1958 Airstream trailer. Pretty neat if you ask me.

People rave about their incredible coffee and friendly staff. Sometimes you’ll find food trucks in their parking lot as well so you can grab a bit with your pick-me-up.

Known Coffee

Directly across from the Wake Forest soccer field on Polo Road you’ll find an old gas station that has been converted into a coffee shop/restaurant and is home to Known Coffee. They have lots of outdoor seating plus a few tables indoors. Their mocha was absolutely delicious and they have a few baked goods to choose from as well.

It’s the perfect place to sit and get some work done in the mornings. During the morning hours you can order coffees and then in the afternoons Campus Gas opens up and sells hot dogs, burgers, and sandwiches. They also have multiple beer taps as well!

They also roast and sell their own coffee beans which you can purchase on their website. I’m a sucker for locally roasted coffee!

Dough-Joe’s Doughnuts & Coffee

The dynamic duo behind Dough-Joe’s are fellow Wake Forest University graduates (Go Deacs!) and started out as a food truck. They quickly grew and opened a shop in Reynolda Village where you’ll find a warm, welcoming space to sip your coffee.

They sell fresh doughnuts daily as well as other baked goods plus they have a full coffee bar.

Krispy Kreme

The original Krispy Kreme store.

Okay, okay, I know this is a chain but you have to love Krispy Kreme. Plus it originated in Winston-Salem! This doughnut franchise is popular across the United States with some of the best doughnuts in the whole country and who doesn’t love coffee with a doughnut?

They sell a wide variety of drinks too. Coffee options include flavors based on their doughnuts in addition to traditional lattes, cappuccinos, mochas, and iced frappes.
