When staying on the East End, you’ll want to check out some of the best Red Hook, St. Thomas restaurants. It’s one of the most popular areas on this side of the island for restaurants and nightlife, and many tours leave from American Yacht Harbor.

Every time I’ve been to St. Thomas, we stay on the East End of the island so Red Hook is always the most convenient place for us to grab a meal.

It’s easy to get a taxi to and from Red Hook when staying at resorts on the East End and once you get into town, it’s all walkable.

My personal favorite Red Hook restaurants are Tap & Still, Lattes in Paradise, and then Duffy’s for drinks.

10 Best Red Hook, St. Thomas Restaurants

Here are just a few great options for places to eat in Red Hook that you should consider visiting while on vacation.

Besides, eating is one of the best things to do in St. Thomas!

1. Lattes in Paradise

The perfect spot for a grab-and-go breakfast, Lattes in Paradise serves fantastic coffee drinks and breakfast sandwiches. It’s also one of the restaurants in Red Hook on the water.

In addition to coffee, they also serve tea, sodas, and hot chocolate. For breakfast they have burritos, bagels, quiche, and more to choose from.

This is a great quick option as it’s counter service and they have a few tables out on the deck overlooking the water.

We loved coming here before our snorkeling tour and liked it so much that we came back a second morning!

2. PESCE iTALiAN

For quality Italian food, don’t miss PESCE where they have a great happy hour every day from 5 – 7 pm. Their chicken parmesan and shrimp scampi are especially popular.

It’s an upscale spot where you’ll find an extensive wine list and cute cocktails. If you have a sweet tooth, then make sure to order the chocolate lava cake for dessert.

They make all of their pasta in-house so you know it’s delicious. Prices are on the higher end and you can get a pasta dish for around $30 and one of their large entrees for between $40 – $50.

3. Duffy’s Love Shack

Duffy’s Love Shack is where you go for the vibe and drinks – not necessarily the food. It’s a tiki hut located in the parking lot of a shopping center. While that may sound weird, it’s incredibly fun.

It’s an open-air bar and they have seating inside the large “hut” or tables set up outside in a roped-off section.

They create SUPER fun cocktails served in crazy cups and you can buy the drink with the cup included or without. They also have shots, of course, and beer options.

The food menu actually has a really wide variety on it – the Caribbean Pu-Pu platter and Jerk Chicken are highly recommended. I went with the fish & chips and doubt I would order it again.

Duffy’s is open until midnight everyday and the atmosphere here is just super fun. Highly recommend stopping in at least for some drinks even if you’re tired from a full day of St. Thomas tours.

4. The Easterly

If you’re looking for a delicious seafood restaurant in Red Hook, then The Easterly is a fantastic choice. They have a small plate menu filled with things like ceviche, mussels, and shrimp.

Their main plates include things like confit duck leg, yellowfin tuna, and steaks or you can order local seafood or one of their seafood towers.

The local seafood is a whole fish plate or Caribbean lobster with the Chef’s daily accompaniments. In addition to their food, they have a great cocktail list, a variety of wine, and local beers from Leatherback Brewing.

The dining room is an open air concept so this is not somewhere I would recommend going when it’s blazing hot.

It’s also a bit hit or miss with service as they are dealing with staffing issues. As always, food is subjective so some people love it, some don’t. Most people love the lobster and oysters.

You’ll want to make a reservation if you plan on going and they are only open for dinner.

5. The Tap & Still

This was one of Tyler and I’s favorite spots – we went twice on our honeymoon! It’s a laid-back sports bar that has a great chicken sandwich and fries at reasonable prices. Perfect spot if you’re tired after a long day trip from St. Thomas.

They also serve burgers that are pretty good, but my personal favorite is the chicken sandwich. One of the locals we talked to said the chicken sandwich was as close as she could get to Chick-fil-A since they don’t have those. 😆

Their fries are fresh cut and never frozen plus they have a full bar and lots of beers to choose from.

It does get really lively the later you stay – it is a sports bar of course – so just keep that in mind if you prefer quieter spots.

Tap & Still is a great place to go if you’re looking for something quick though, and don’t want to pay for a big meal.

6. Island Time Pub

Island Time Pub is one of the most popular restaurants on the East End as it’s right on the water and has some of the best pizza around and plenty of drink options.

The laid-back atmosphere and decent prices just add to the popularity. They have tons of traditional options for pizza but also combinations like a shrimp scampi pizza, chicken alfredo pizza, and Mama’s meatball pie.

In addition to pizza, they have a few sandwich and salad options plus great deals on happy hour drinks. The view is also something that brings people back since it’s right on the harbor and on the second level of the building.

Portions are pretty large so you may even have food left to take back with you! This is just a great hang out spot perfect for when you’ve spent a long day on the water and want to grab a beer after a tour. They are also open until midnight if you’re a night owl.

This would really hit the spot after a day of kayaking in St. Thomas.

7. Hook’d USVI

Hook’d USVI is one of the few restaurants in Red Hook that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner but they do a great job with all three.

The atmosphere is nice with a relaxed vibe and waterfront location. It’s hard to beat their happy hour drink deals too.

While they don’t have a huge menu, what they serve is quality. Most people love the pork belly appetizer, fish tacos, and any of the benedicts for breakfast.

For breakfast, you can get a breakfast sandwich, breakfast burrito, pancakes, or even a breakfast smash burger. The lunch menu has multiple salad options, sandwiches, and tacos/wraps.

The dinner menu also has some salad options, tacos, burgers, plus a catch of the day. Service is typically friendly and welcoming.

Note that this restaurant also has an open-air concept.

8. Tarpon’s Table

Another spot open for all three meals! They also have some unique breakfast items like a 3-egg Shakshouka and Chili Chilaquiles “Verde.” They serve traditional breakfast items as well.

Their lunch menu includes poke bowls, tacos, and sandwiches and then for dinner they just add some larger entrees.

These include ribeye, fish & chips, fresh catch, and lobster to name a few. On their Facebook page, they also share a daily special.

Tarpon’s Table is located right by the docks so you can also see the tarpon swimming if you’re lucky enough to grab a seat by the water and the timing is right.

You can also watch the St. Thomas boat tours leave out of the harbor if you come for breakfast.

9. Señor Pizza

If you’re craving pizza, then Señor Pizza is a safe bet with fantastic prices and delicious food. They also offer delivery (in Red Hook & East End) if you don’t feel like going out.

Inside their restaurant, you’ll find a few retro arcade games so this is a perfect spot if you have kids that need to be entertained.

In addition to pizza, you can also get salads, wings, subs, and calzones. The portions are really large so this is a great deal if you want the most bang for your buck.

They’re open for lunch or dinner so if you’re hanging out at your resort on the East End and want to order a pizza for lunch this is the perfect place!

10. Raw Sushi & Sake Bar

For a sushi fix, look no further than Raw. They recently went through renovations and are open again and ready to go!

In addition to sushi rolls, you’ll find tacos, bowls, and light bites on the menu. They have a great happy hour that includes food as well as sake so if you’re looking to save money, grab dinner here between 5 – 6 pm.

While sake is their most prominent drink on the menu, they also serve specialty cocktails, wine, and beer.

The interior decor is Asian inspired and they are open for dinner only.

Wrap Up: Restaurants in Red Hook, St. Thomas

There are tons of great restaurant options in Red Hook if you are staying on the East End of St. Thomas so you don’t have to go all the way into Charlotte Amalie. Though, if you want to take a food tour in St. Thomas, you will have to head into the capital city.

Side note – if you’re wondering where to stay in St. Thomas, the East End has some wonderful resorts to choose from!

I highly recommend getting up to visit Lattes in Paradise for a grab & go breakfast before heading out on any tours and Tap & Still is the perfect place to grab a bite after a long day on the water.

If you’re looking for something a little more upscale, then PESCE, Hooked USVI, or The Easterly are your best bet.

You really can’t go wrong with any of these restaurants in Red Hook though!
